Senator John L. Scott Jr.

John Scott

District 19
Please VOTE in the Democratic Primary on June 14th  Welcome to my official website. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of South Carolina District 19 and statewide. As your Senator, I am committed to building a reputation as a strong independent voice while working with both Democrats and Republicans to find common-sense solutions to issues facing South Carolina. Despite a tumultuous year with fiscal and internal challenges, record unemployment, and the highly anticipated focus on redistricting (the result of population change recorded in the 2010 Census), I want to take this opportunity to highlight areas in which a modification was made or a new law enacted. Those areas include: As a lifelong SC Senate District 19 resident with 28 years of combined public service, John has a passion for our community that is unmatched. His solid track record shows that he's dedicated to fixing our roads, paying our employees fair wages, supporting our educational institutions and keeping our communities safe. John is a dedicated leader who has proven that he will stand up for us, tackle tough issues and fight for the values we believe in. Let's keep real experience working for us. Let's re-elect John Scott in the Democratic Primary! Re-elect Senator John L. On my Legislation page, you will find a summary of several key actions taken by the General Assembly, along with specific areas in which I was engaged. As the key sponsor of two important bills - Early Voting and Mental Health Word Change - you will find a commentary on each. Especially for students, a link has been added to the SC Statehouse Student Connect. It is a great way for students to be connected to and learn about the operating functions of the Legislature and state government. Also featured are our District's Appointees, including four Magistrates, the Executive Director for the Board of Elections and Registration, and the on-going service of a Commissioner for the SC Department of Transportation. Let me thank Ethel Brewer, LCB Enterprise Editing, and Namon Henderson, Henderson's High Tech Web Design, for their outstanding collaboration on the production of this website. I hope you will find these updates informative and interesting. Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your Senator. Sincerely,
Senator John L. Scott, Jr.
